California Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) Testing

The Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) is required for purchasing or transferring most firearms in California. Want more training and insights before taking the test?  We offer the option to take the FSC test at the end of any of our courses. 

SB-948 Updates

SB-948 (2026)  introduces new requirements for FSC certification starting January 1, 2029. Key changes include:

• A mandatory 4-hour training course

• At least one hour of live-fire shooting exercises

• Exemptions for individuals with valid CCW permits or those who completed CCW training within the last three years.  Checkout our upcoming CCW Course
