Exposed Firearm Permit holders are required to qualify four times during the life of the two year permit. This required two (2) hour course reviews Escalation and De-Escalation Force as well as a range qualification. Permit holder must complete two (2) qualifications per year of the permit, and each qualification must be at least four months apart.

This 16-hour course is approved by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. It is designed to give the security officer an awareness of the legal and moral aspects of the use of firearms while carrying a handgun as a licensed security officer.
