One Great Class with Two Great Options to Attend
This Basic Pistol Course is for new shooters, or those wanting to improve their skills or anyone preparing for their CCW.
The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. The Basic Pistol Course will also help prepare the student for participation in other NRA courses.
Due to seasonal conditions a jacket, hat/cap, long pants and closed toe shoes are recommended.
You will need to bring a pistol of your choice and at least 100 rounds (200 recommended) of the correct new ammunition (no reloads) for you firearm, plus eye and hearing protection, a hat, a sack lunch and snacks.

Online self-paced
with in Person Review & Range
Online self-paced training replaces the in-person lecture, allowing you to learn at your pace.
During the in-person portion you
will receive a 1 - 2 hours Review and Follow-on on the key topics of the online training. Followed by 2 - 3 hours of range time which includes:
Review and reinforcement of shooting fundamentals.
Live fire drills.
Qualification shoot, to earn level 1 through 4 rankings.

Instructor Led -
All in-person classroom/lecture, and Range
Includes all course materials and Range fees
2-3 hours Classroom Instruction.
1 hours Handling & Open book test.
2-3 hours range time which includes:
Review and reinforcement of shooting fundamentals.
Live fire drills.
Qualification shoot, to earn level 1 – 4 rankings.
Upon completion you will receive an NRA certificate of completion. You will have the knowledge and understanding on the qualities that you will want in a firearm if you intend on purchasing one in the future.
